If I'm Lenin, I will choose Nikolai Bukharin as my successor. He helps spread communism by publishing books about it and this shows that he had great intellectual ability, which is beneficial when he succeeds Lenin. He is the main supporter of Lenin's NEP, which shows that he agrees strongly that Russia should be a communist country, and this mindset is important to become a good leader of communism. Hence, I chose Nikolai Bukharin to be my successor if I'm Lenin.
If I'm Lenin, I will choose Trotsky as my successor. This is so as he is not only labelled as Lenin 'number two', but also a brilliant and capable leader. This allows him to carry out the aims of communism better. He had also done well in getting Russia out of World War 1.He possesses great personal abilities and is talented in oratory which allows him to increase the popularity of the Bolshevik party and gain support from the people. This enables the party to be able to overthrow the government and be able to fulfill its aims.Hence, I will choose Trotsky as my heir.
My choice to choosing who as my successor would be Leon Trotsky. He is one of the oldest amongst the potential successors and I believe he would have seen more of the threats in Soviet Union together with his experiences like overthrowing the government. He has a talent of writing and oratory with his knowledge that makes him a good leader.Being able to write allows him to work with other people around the world easier. So I would chose Leon Trotsky as my successor.
Hi Jia Pao, I am intrigued by your suggestion of selecting Bukharin as your successor. I agree that Bukharin has great intellectual capacity but so do many of the other candidates. Kamenev was also a University graduate at Moscow University, the oldest and most established Russian University, no less. Does Bukharin have any other qualities that would make him a suitable successor and why would these qualities be so important in Russia at that time? Over to you...
